Actually he's bisexual isn't he. The bassist is gay and the drummer straight. So the band is only half gay. Not that it makes a difference anyway.

Lol. What a statement. I'm pretty fond of Placebo. Well, what I've heard so far anyway.

black market was sh1t tho...seemed like they started off with two songs then changed them around and made the rest of the album using the changed around songs..(?) (makes sense in me noggin)...,,(maybe not yours?)

I listened to that new album 3 or 4 times and the -only- good song on it is The Bitter End.. It was a waste of money imo.. just get black market music

I like the new album, took a while to get used to it but I consider it almost as good as Black Market Music. But I would really like to have the version of "Where is my mind" that they sang on the concert.
And since I have seen them live I definetly think that Brian is gay. It breaks my heart but he just acts so.... gay :)

the new album starts really good...but i feel like it kinda trails off mid way into crap or just weird noise....

well i ment NOT MANY 13 year olds and your not really a placebo fan if u think bmm was manipulated from the first 2 songs, pathetic analysis, listen to it properly, then say something decent.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 173 ✭✭razorfeather

yeh i listened to it 3 times over the last day...tis good i suppose but like you have to agree that their first two were ALOT better???? no??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 101 ✭✭fleshmechanic

No i disagree....Sleeping with ghosts is a very good album ....better than bmm imo cos they're using a lot more electronics and stuff & trying to move forward....there are some crackers on it like plasticine, sleeping with ghosts, english summer rain & i really like this picture......(the single has that where is my mind on it) so i say fair play to them...a lesser band would have made a right duffer of a fourth album......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 172 ✭✭sillisome fiend

I disagree...sleeeping with ghosts is probably what i consider placebos best album so far,not many people seem to like it much though.

i am yet to hear it :(

i'm incredibly broke atm, so i think i'll end up downloading it.... ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,070 ✭✭✭Placebo

i downloaded the whole thing buy 31 Jan, if i recall correctly, i bought it when it came out then. And just cause Placebo use more electronic equipment and get another groupie to play the keyboard doesnt actually make them Better.

Musically speaking Black Market Music was a huge step, its totally different from the other 2 albums, SWG was expected to be like this, different and electronic, You may think its the best, your opinion. I think its basically one of the best albums of all time, first 3 songs blow you away , Taste in men, Days before you came, Special - K. Followed by Spite & Mallice, which was totally UNEXPECTED, mixed very very well. The album then tones down with Passive agressive and then rises again, with Slave to the Wage. Haemoglobin is one of the strongest tracks i`ve ever heard AND comparing to the last 2 albums, bmm has the best Hidden Track.

I dont quite like This Picture.

Placebo are probably my favourite all time band, and I'm beginning to enjoy Sleeping With Ghosts, despite initially not liking it at all. I can see where some people are coming from though - the album does trail off about half way through, but I still think there are some great songs:

"English Summer Rain" - great song, nice electronic bits, very like Smashing Pumpkins' Machina era.

"This Picture" - hated it until it was released as a single - now I love it. Very singalong-ish.

"Sleeping With Ghosts" - also catchy

"The Bitter End" - up there with my all-time favourite Placebo songs. Absolutely brilliant.

    "Plasticine" - Pretty good.

"Special Needs" - really like this one. Again, very catchy.

"Protect me from what I want" - absolutely dire. Keep it away from me!

Anyway, it has at least 5 good songs on the album. I'm well prepared to admit that the rest of the album isn't really worth listening to, but having been starved of good Placebo recently.

Incidentally, I'm 21, and I've been listening to Placebo since I was 14. Yes, that made me a teenager at the time, but I don't think that invalidates my opinion of Placebo in any way. I still love their music now, and I think I might appreciate it more than ever.

I'd actually love to know the musical taste of the contributor who hates all music loved by teenagers. It'd be horribly hypocritical if he was into Eminem or something...

Does it really matter what age the people who listen to placebo are? Rather stupid I think! I know u didn't say that mr_angry...but whoever did!

And about the person who said he hates all music loved by teenagers.....you might be surprised at some of the bands some teenagers listen to now, not all teenagers like the usual crap! Maybe some even like the same bands as you
