Is Earthbound Zero worth playing?

I have recently acquired both Earthbound Zero (for the NES) and Earthbound (for the SNES). Just wondering whether anyone knows if the NES version is worth playing through or is it basically the same as the SNES version with 8-bit graphics/sound.
