    Hi.
I've never really done alot of REAL art classes in my time. Just the stuff in primary school which i loved... I never did art in secondary school except what we delved into in Transition year which was fun indeed. I'm now 20 and after years of being told that i have an artists eye and undeveloped potential I finally going to do something about it.
At the moment I'm very very involved in Photography. I'm also next years Photo Editor of a Trinity News paper. I plan on making an animation or two this summer. I'm studying Computer SCi in Trinity..

Basically I want to learn how to draw and be creative in the classical/modern artistic sense
I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DRAW!!!

    Technic more than anything

Does anyone know where i should go to?
There are lots and lots of granny art courses around.
I want something real and not too pricy(free if possible) :)

NCAD used to run a few, I don't know the details at the moment. Go into an art supplies shop and you should find a few classes listed.

    you dont need classes.

all the training you need is in relatively easy to buy books.

if you get through "drawing to the right side of the brain" by betty edwards, then "the natural way to draw" by kimon nicolaides, you wont have a thing to worry about when it comes to drawing.

Personally I like the atmosphere of a class when drawing. You get to share ideas with other people. Though some books can be useful aswell. Probably a mix of the two is ideal.

    to a certain extent..

but those books really are gems. You should read them FIRST as a foundation.. get the basics pinned down, then share ideas.

try checking out the trinity arts work shop, they run life drawing classes on tuesdays and thursdays, they are a little unorganised
and its not easy to find out when the classes are on but its quite good.
the workshop is located on pearse st opposite fireworks!
    good luck,
    david.

As a matter of interest, do you doodle? If not, get cracking.
