you really couldnt tell without seeing the output quality. im not the diggest fan of auto flash and focus either. i doubt the lens would be of very high quality for that price.

anyway its made buy trust(the matsui of computer peripherals), a company not known for the high quality of its products.

The catch is Trust are based in China, and their products are assembled by workers who are likely underpaid and overworked. Buying Chinese goods is an endorsment of human rights abuses, and transfers wealth out of our economy. Keep jobs (and wealth) in Europe by buying European.

...no wait, all of the above is complete bullsh1t. There can be absolutely no denying that I MUST be a total g0bsh1te. Imagine that! A total g0bsh1te posting on boards.ie! Gasp!

Do we really need to have your views and morals inflicted on us over a camera purchase. If you have a problem with China, take it there.

Oh, and before you start Trust and China bashing, maybe you might want to get your facts straightened out:

    http://www.trust.com/corporate/jobs/frame-jobs.htm

"For more than twenty years now, Trust International B.V. has been the only independent European manufacturer of affordable computer peripherals of high technological quality."

    http://www.trust.com/corporate/offices/frame-offices.htm

While I cant claim to know exactly where their products are made, buying Trust is clearly buying European. You people suck and thats sad.

If not buying stuff from China makes you feel less guilty about your quality of life then work away. Don't push it on others. Every country is guilty. Nobody is innocent.

Most of the electronic equipment is made in China/Taiwan/Malaysia etc.

There is another one of these cameras:
    Eclipse 2.0 Digital Camera

I would be concerned about buying a 4MP camera which doesn't have an optical zoom...

See this discussion about this camera on the DVD Forums: Here
