    I'm mad, I've got a new laptop ... I installed C&C:G it went on just fine ... but when i went to play the game it would say
    Eject and re-insert CD, click ok and restart app.

    After doing so milion times
    (at least 10) i gave up and dowmloaded the no cd crack... it was the only way I got the damn thing to work ...
    I'm pretty sure my CD drive is ok, it installed all right and I can see other cds just fine ... although i did have one or to problems before ...

    so mainly the question is ... what is going on, someone said it's EA's crappy copy protection ... what do you think?

    im not to sure but it may use some kind of safdisc copy protection. safedisc2 is known to play havoc with some cd drives when running on 2k or xp. the only solution is either get a no-cd crack(as you did), wait for a patch to solve the problems or get a new cd drive.

    Did you install all 3 patches for the games first?

    Although I'm using the No CD crack myself as I don't like having a load of CD's hanging around.

    I dont know if this is related but a while back i got Return to castle wolfenstein ,when i couldnt go online as someone was already using my cd keycode.
    It turned out that Game had taken this very copy back as an exchange and somebody was using the keycode.
    NO i was not impressed !

    Not related I suspect. Doesn't C&C:G use Safedisk 2.5 with all the problems that causes for some drives? Bloody annoying either way.

    @Dcully:
    I'd say some scummy type bought the game just for the CD key (knowing he'd return the disc) so he could play his alredy acquired warezed copy online. I'm pretty sure Razor or some similar group brought out an online keygen so he was lazy as well as dishonest.

    Your lucky, I cant even get the damn thing to install. I get "Error 1607: Unable to Install Installshield scripting runtime"

    I tryed a fix they have on their site. but all it says is to copy all the CD Files to you HD.. still it didn't work. If I dont get an answer tht fixes it by today. I'm sending it back and getting my €60 back!
