any sujjestions for games in compsoc?
I don't like games like starcraft or TA. I'd love a network game of fifa or a racing game.

hrm, nice idea for a thread.

personally I think there are *far* better RTS games out there than starcraft, which is fairly pants and one problem with RTS games is that when people come up late to 307, and there is a game underway, they don't have much to do until the game is over and they can join in the next one..
no probs like that with quake or whatever..

players like ciaran who is very defensive and stratigic generally play for a couple of hours

yeah, get counter strike or bf 1942 going, tribes 2 prehaps.

bf 1942 is a possibility
have to bring it in and try to get it run on the computers
counter strike wont work, half life mod, half life wont work in there (needs to access the registry to insert a reg-key)
can try any game though, just a matter of bringin it in and playing about with it for a while to try to get it to work

im gonna get ground control installed the network in a few days, we should have UT whenever ciaran gets around to it, id bring in generals but it wouldn't run on the computers

im getting tired of kicking all your asses in wolfenstein so im hoping well get some new games soon

Half-Life would be nice but if it doesn't work it doesn't work. And I seriously doubt those machines would be able to run battlefield 1942. The new ones in lab C303 would but they're out of bounds for that kind of thing

Battlefieldn 1942 doesnt have a prayer of running on these machines. I would give Bicky's left arm for half-life, but its a simple fact it wont work.

Tiberian sun wont work, which was a surprise to me.

Considering all we had last year was AoE 2, Diablo 2, and Quake 1, I dont think we're doing too bad.

Atm we have Quake 3, Return to castle wolfenstein, AOE2, Starcraft, Diablo 2, Homeworld, and Total Annihalation to name a few.

People are always asking for more games, but when you ask them to bring them in so we can...*ermm* get them working, they just dont have the time.

Remember I like to get drunk and I have this other thing called college.

Hopefully we'll have Unreal Tournament (the original) and maybe Medal of Honour:Allied Assault soon (eventually). Remember these networks are setup to prevent people from playing games, they arent making this easy.

Again I'll give Bicky's head to the man who can get half-life working.

If anyone is interested in trying to get any games running in Compsoc come in to A307 today beofre 1pm (with the game) or tomorrow from 5pm on. I am in there and I can try to get them working. If we get them working maybe Ivan can out it on the Compsoc server.

If I can find Serious Sam I will try and get it running.



P.S: Ivan, can u get Diablo II running again (maybe even LOD), might be a laugh

and colin mcrea is still a possibility.
well see what happens next week. i cant see a whole lot of time being put into anything this week

i got ground control installed on cd now, so if i find a crack ill have it ready tomorrow, tactical strategy no resourcing(especially for sicnarf)

and i just thought id mention, there are few of us interested in a RTCW league thingy, maybe a 3v3, winnners get to gloat for for the rest of the year! anyone else interested?

also i might bring in thief2, sacrifice, no one lives forever, warrior kings or giants for a change from the games we normally play, what do yee think?

If u have games in college come into A307, I will be there most of the day and I will try to get them working of the college network. That includes Fifa and other crap like that (if it makes u ppl happy to play that kinda sh!t )
