I've finally got around to installing nagios on one of my machines (a rh 7.1 box) and everything is working fine except for check_ping.

I've tried running it from the command line thus:
    [draco@hal etc]$ sudo /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ping -H 127.0.0.1 -w 300.0,80% -c 500.0,100% -p 1 -v
==> You've got a big problem buddy! You need more args!!!
    Cannot open pipe:

    pinging 127.0.0.1 works.

All i've seen on the net suggests a broken ping and to go back to an older one, and I've tried one from RH 6.2 and then tried going the other way with the ping that comes with RH 8.0

I'm using the latest versions of both nagios and the nagios plug ins.

    Any suggestions?
