Ok here is something for you to think about.

A: UN inspector Hans Blix finds full co-operation and Iraq wants to dismantle all W.O.M.D. Europe is victorious, the countries deciding against war come out as winners. Tension between American and Europe enhances. Outcome ?

B: UN Inspector do not find Iraq to comply with the full co-operation they can and war has began with UK and USA as chiefs running the show, Iraq looses . Outcome ?

C: terrorist attack claimed by El quaida in UK or USA before the war starts. UK and USA point fingers towards EU , which stay silent and whether the storm. People approve full , no holds barred attack on Iraq. Outcome ?

    D: fill in other possibility.

A: USA and UK will find another reason to go to war vs Iraq and/or Saddam Hussein dies , probably caused by a us/uk commando strike which they never awknowledge.

B:USA and UK control oil deposits in Iraq and fuel prices drop.
Lots of innocent casualties which usa+uk refuse to awknowledge.
Decomracy setup, until then country run by USA+Uk to stop it splitting into factions. (USA + UK will probably have a large say in the running of country for decades)

C: Regard for innocent life is minimal as are the people who care in the countries that were affected by the terrorists. Iraq overun in a week. USA/UK 'dictatorship' setup. The allies turn towards N. Korea without much opposition.

D:Saddam launches bio weapons attack on UK and US and declares war. Iraq fire bombed(u know those bombs that use up all the oxygen in the area) Possibility of a nuke/ clean nuke (if they exist yet). Saddam dies. US special forces unmask him and it is infact Osama Bin Laden.

    e) The overlooked ending- the Millenium Falcon Swings into action again. The worlds population is stunned that it wasnt just a figment of Lucas's imagination, bringing about world peace overnight. Yoda takes over as earth ruler and the Jedi ways return. Bush, Blair, Bin Laden, Hussein and any dictator of choice get frozen in carbon and put out for display in the halls of the Global Alliance head quarters as a reminder to all of earths turbulent past.....................................

Europe is victorious? Only 8 countries in Europe which have stated a view, are anti-US policy.

Namely Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Sweden, Portugal and Greece.

All others are to some degree backing the US including most of Eastern Europe, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Italy etc.

Thermobaric bombs, and they are quite horrible and brutal weapons.

Read today's Irish Times. Spain's opinion appears to be changing very rapidly...according to the President's wife, the governing party is going through "one of the worst moments of its history", due mainly to polls which now show the opposition winning the next election, and revelations that Aznar offered to pay "aid" to Iraq in exchange for oil contracts for a Spanish company in 1997. This despite the fact that the UN was passing resolutions condemning Iraq's non-compliance with arms inspections...

I'll do the introductions...Kettle, this is Pot, he has a black arse...

    Predictions:
After the first bomb falls Saddam's Regime topples like a rotten fruit and the country is engulfed in a 3 way civil war, Shi'te, Sunni, Kurk. US looks the other way.
In the meanwhile, North Korea pushes it too far and sparks a war, envolving the use of weapons of mass descruction on the peninsular and neighbouring countries.
Finally, Arsenal win the Champions League.

I say there will be war eventually. Us and UK will be drawn into urban warfare in streets of Baghdad. They will win eventually but with luge loss of civilian and US/UK troops. And Man UTd win the Champians League, and the Premiership.

Thermobaric bombs, and they are quite horrible and brutal weapons.

AFP) - The US military is about to use a powerful new weapon in the ongoing war in Afghanistan, a "thermobaric" bomb which can suck oxygen out of the cavernous hideouts where Osama bin Laden and remnants of his al-Qaeda terror network may be holed up.

The laser-guided weapons contain an explosive that can penetrate deep into caves, as the hunt for bin Laden enters a new, more perilous stage, top Pentagon officials said Friday.

Officials said 10 of the newly designed bombs were being shipped to Afghanistan after a successful test last week in Nevada.

Each thermobaric bomb -- also called fuel-air explosives -- contains two explosive devices and a highly flammable chemical that sends a deadly shock wave through enclosed spaces such as caves and tunnels without collapsing them.

The weapons consist of a container of fuel and two explosive charges. When the first charge detonates, the fuel is dispersed. A second charge then detonates the billowing cloud of fuel.

Experts say such bombs tend to be far more powerful than conventional high explosives, and are more likely to kill or injure people hiding in caves, bunkers and similar shelters because they can suck the air out of such places.

Earlier versions of thermobaric bombs were used in Vietnam by the United States and in Chechnya by Russia.

The new version, called the BLU-1186, was developed specifically for use in the war against terrorism, officials here said.
