    not much
didn't *really* like soundgarden (too heavy) or ratm (one-trick for 10 years), but chris cornell's solo album is chronically underrated, even if it is a bit power ballad on occasion
    so ...uhhh ...yeah

    *Ahem*

    ---> Ring any bells?? <---

Sorry, I apologise for the nit-picking :) I got the album after all and didn't think it was too bad. The video for Cochise is all over the place at the moment but the second song "Show me how to live" (I think?) is pretty good also.

I can see where people are coming from when they say the songs are a bit "samey"

So all in all, not too shabby

    /me shrugs shoulders

Better than most of the stuff out today. But not good enough for my liking. I think Morello is way overrated.

AUDIOSLAVE ARE TERRIBLE!! Every song is crap, cliched, pathetic, dull, all done before. My god, is this what some bands use as inspiration? If so, please stop.

Look, if you wanna rock properly, buy 'Hich Voltage' or 'Back in Black' by ACDC.

they are great. not as good as the almighty soundgarden, better than the average RATM. overall, a damn good album that i hope to be better with their next release

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭Gringo

its a good album not a great one, but come on now matter how crap you think it is you gotta thank god when cochise or any other metal song comes on instead of some cr*ppy looped 10second piece of dance/R&B/pop rap sh*t. then again you gotta hate it when you see little dance rap f*gs trying to act mad by pretend listening to Metallica or some other great as* kicking band!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 178 ✭✭Dalamar

No, i don't actually, i think cochise is possibly the most annoying thing i've heard so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭Gringo

yeah right let me guess youre one of those guys that likes "old Skool" style music and is deluded himselfinto thinking the strokes actually rates the honour of bein called a band, i bet you call limp bizkit "old skool" metal dont you?

Audioslave are a pretty cool band.
Took me a couple of listens to really appreciate how good they are.

I actually really like Audioslave. Yeah OK they're nothing special but it's still a bloody good album.

My favourite song on the album would probably be "Like A Stone".

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 178 ✭✭Dalamar

Ok, i'll be honest, i find the song cochise annoying, i don't like the singers voice in that song... though admittedly i haven't heard the rest of the album.

Ha, that's a good one. The Strokes are a piece of sh*t in my opinion, and so are limp bizkit. No, i don't claim to listen to 'old skool' metal as you put it.

AudioSlave are a breath of fresh air.

All we needed change from the rush of crap NuMetal bands. It give us a break from the constant noise that we have grown to love in the NuMetal age.

I think they rock - they remind me of an up to date led zepplin

    overall, a great band

I like the kind of rougher edge Cornell has on his voice on Cochise over some other songs like BHS and pretty noose.

I have in fact and although they are good I wouldnt say they remind me of led zepplin at all....... as well as that their vocalist isnt even half as good as chris cornell....

Down are a bit too raw for me - I know led zepplin were raw, but thats what the rage was in their era....

Nowadays big bands take more pride in sounding as good as they possibly can, which if led sepplin were still around I think they would attempt to do the same.

Anyway - this thread was all about audioslave - i dunno where you came up with down. The the thread starts by asking us what we though of audio slave, i gave my opinion.....

    Later

Led Zep sounded far ahead of their time though.
There are many very badly produced bands around now, and many over produced ones too. The music and Linkin' park come to mind.
Audioslave are just rock and roll, and its great. Led Zep were rock and roll and they paved the way forward for new techniques in producing music.

    I agree 100%

there are still a few bands who dont mind sounding raw. QOTSA and PJ's new albums are examples

Audieslave are good by what i have heard from people who have the album, when i heard a few songs i wasn't thinking, i have to buy this album!!! but i wasn't not going to buy the album, i just ahven't got round to buying it YET! it will be in my collection but for now it is still in the shop! it better be worth my £12:99! from what i have been told and heard it is good, just good, well i could buy some horrible "lets push a button and pretend we can makemusic" dance compilation rubish, grrr that gets on my nerves.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 198 ✭✭Axe

Ah matthew, when will you ever learn, normal people don't pay £12.99 for a cd, get it off the net. It's so much cheaper!

    agrees

Audioslave have one of the most original creative guitarists in Morello and Tim Comerford backs him up with some seriously powerful bass, intricate too. Rage were great but who can listen to de la Rochas politiacal rantings for too long....ok zac we dont give a **** if the CIA are watching you in the shower. Cornell is the best proper "rock god pants too tight but who cares sumbitch" weve seen in a while. Bravo lads

If only audioslave were still rocking. Arctic monkeys are the only band that come close now.:(
