Yea they should probably concentrate on changing their crappy DSL product first.

Just noticed when you go to http://www.esatbt.com it redirects you to http://www.btesat.com

    Other way around for me.

Also http://www.btignite.ie is taken. How many times do they bloody well change their name?

Their answer would be: "We're protecting our IP." Complete waste of money, but it's their money I guess.

They own a few more .ie domains as well. Some of them seem to be .ie versions of the UK BT domains.

Esat BT have only just launched their new site. I think the btesat one was like a holding site. The new site I believe brings the site more in line with BT Ignites look and feel.

BT Ignite would cover things like mainly BT Openworld in the UK and also home user products in EsatBT, but it's not even a name the customer would come into contact with 90% of the time...

As for registering btesat.com....that is just a petty, petty complaint. Are google being d1cks because they register things like gooogle.com?

Appologies, but isn't it bleeding obvious that eth0_ is referring to kevinmcc and his posting: "Just noticed when you go to http://www.esatbt.com it redirects you to http://www.btesat.com Also http://www.btignite.ie is taken. How many times do they bloody well change their name?" and the general tone of the thread.

EsatBt have not changed there name so we can conclude that the phrase "How many times do they bloody well change their name?" complaint refers to the registering of new domain names. This is what the thread is about - a general moan about Esat and domain names.

I was under the impression that kevinmcc was suggesting that Esat BT were changing their name, hence the pre-emptive registrations; and that eth0_ had the same misunderstanding as you.

I concede that that may well have been what kevinmcc was suggesting. Sorry for getting irritated and implying that dahamsta was pretending not to know what eth0_ was talking about.

    *cough*

    Careful now.

The original question in this thread has been answered and the topic has run its irrelevant course.

(For the record, I thought he was talking about a Name change from the title of the thread, but once i read the body of the message, it became apparent he was just talking about domains. BUT THATS NOT IMPORTANT:) )
