BBC Radio 4 Long Wave (Test Match Special) are broadcasting some matches in the first round (mostly England's games, but some others) and 1 other game on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra (You'd need digital TV or digital radio for that channel)

All games in the Super Six Phase up to the final will be on R4LW.

Radio 4 Long Wave is at 198 KHz on the Long Wave band. It is also available on Sky Digital. If you have that, let me know. There is no broadcasts on the internet, sadly :(

    Here is the BBC's plan...

    15th Australia v India, Centurion
    0800-1545 GMT

16th England v Holland, East London
    0800-1545 GMT

19th England v Namibia, Port Elizabeth
    0800-1545 GMT

22nd England v Pakistan, Cape Town
    1230-2015 GMT

    26th England v India, Durban
    1230-2015 GMT

28th Sri Lanka v West Indies, Cape Town
    1230-2015 GMT (Sports Extra only)

    March

    1st Pakistan v India, Centurion
    0800-1545 GMT

2nd Australia v England, Port Elizabeth
    0800-1545 GMT

3rd South Africa v Sri Lanka, Durban
    1230-2015 GMT (Sports Extra only)

    Super Six

    7th 1st Group A v 1st Group B, Centurion
    0800-1545 GMT

    2nd Group A v 2nd Group B, Cape Town
    1230-2015 GMT

    8th 3rd Group A v 3rd Group B, Bloemfontein
    0800-1545 GMT

    10th 2nd Group A v 1st Group B, Johannesburg
    0800-1545 GMT

    11th 1st Group A v 3rd Group B, Port Elizabeth
    0800-1545 GMT

    12th 3rd Group A v 2nd Group B, Bloemfontein
    0800-1545 GMT

    14th 2nd Group A v 3rd Group B, Centurion
    0800-1545 GMT

    15th 3rd Group A v 1st Group B, East London
    0800-1545 GMT

    1st Group A v 2nd Group B, Durban
    1230-2015 GMT

    Semi-finals

18th 1st Super Six v 4th Super Six, Port Elizabeth
    0800-1545 GMT

    20th 2nd Super Six v 3rd Super Six, Durban

its such a shame they are not broadcasting live over the net...rigghts issues and all that i suppose....i actually enjoy listening to radio cricket commentry....ive learned more about the game and the jargon used in the sport.

the day would go much faster in work if i could listen to it on the radio but alas with all the PCs around here the itnerferance is brutal on a normal transmitter radio

Baggygreen.com might be doing the Aussie Matches.
Its not radio commentary but the audio of the Channle 9 TV coverage- but they have Richie Benaud!!

I listened to all the Ashes Matches on that when I was NY over Christmas.

No, that wont be happening. Thats only for international games in Australia. Actually, Richie is not in South Africa. Channel 9 are still doing some domestic cricket this weekend, so Tony Greig, Bill Lawry and Richie and Mark Taylor are still in Australia. Greig and Tub will be out there, with Ian Healy, who I've heard already. I dont think Richie is going. What is happening with TV is that all the broadcasters have pooled together so they'll be mixing and matching their commentators together.

    From: http://msn.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,70132-1077315,00.html
The 26-strong commentary line-up is drawn from ten different nations. The familiar Sky Sports line-up, of former England captains David Gower, Ian Botham and Bob Willis plus former coach David Lloyd, will be joined by David Hookes, Ian Healy and Mark Taylor of Australia; Michael Holding, Tony Cozier and Ian Bishop [West Indies]; Martin Crowe and Ian Smith [New Zealand]; Ravi Shastri and Sanjay Manjrekar [India]; Rameez Raja and Aamir Sohail [Pakistan]; Shamim Chowdry [Bangladesh]; Ranjit Fernando [Sri Lanka]; Mike Haysman, Robin Jackman, Barry Richards, Kepler Wessels, Imraan Munshi and Pat Symcox [South Africa]; Andy Pycroft [Zimbabwe]; and former England captain Tony Greig. Together they can claim more than 28,000 international runs and 770 international wickets between them.

    I noticed that yesterday.
I only saw the the NZ innings and I though t I was hearing things before they turned over to the "Comm Box Cam" and the legend himself was orating.

Its a pleasure to hear Richie versus the likes of Paul Allot-
I think the Guardian described him as "Sky Sports Meat and 2 veg Man"!!

    ??

    Good, but...

    Daytime and evening phone number?

"How often do you normally send money to India?
More than 5 times a year
    2-5 times a year
    1-2 times a year
    Occasionally
    Never "

I know you can put dummy info in, but that seems a bit personal.

But I do like this bit....

"The audio commentary provided by Wisden Online is unofficial, unauthorised commentary. Furthermore, our commentators will not be commentating direct from the ground."

Heh. Back to the good ol days of TalkSPORT. :D

Ah, but it isn't "live" in the conventional old-style meaning of that word. I logged on, having a TV on in the background, showing the same game (India-Zimbabwe) and heard a Zimbabwe batsman being dismissed at least 2 minutes after he was actually dismissed!!!! At least the Talk Sport "unofficial commentary" wasn't 2 minutes behind actual events!

But such is the lag of internet broadcasting, it can never be truly live.

plus the fact that internet commentry is coming from India.

If you tune into RTE Radio 1 online you would find about 1 minute lag.

Ah, but while I accept there's a lag, the reason I know it was 2 minutes rather than the 3-5 seconds lag you get between an (analogue) radio signal and Sky, was because as the radio was giving the batsman out, Sky (who WERE showing the match live) were showing the next India batsman facing his first ball! So even in the loosest sense, it couldn't be described as live!!

    Point noted.

my point is i have no tv here at work so lag makes no odds to me whatsoever :)

Ive tried radio commentry with TV in th past but anytime i tune into longwave on the radio and turn on the tv the interferance makes it impossibnle to listen to
