Does anybody know where the stuff from the Oxigen green recycling bins actually goes? Do they have a processing centre where the paper is separated from the plastic?

I remember something about the last recylcing crowd who turned out to be a bunch of cowboys and were caught just dumping the stuff...anyone have any details about this?

Funnily enough the refuse is in fact recycled.

The only allegations I have heard of miscounduct at a pencil pusher level has been the allegations made that elements of Wicklow County Council had complicity in illegal dumping taking place in Wicklow.

(23:15) The Minister for the Environment has refused a request from An Taisce for an investigator to be appointed with the powers of commissioner, to examine alleged links between Wicklow County Council and illegal dumping.

As you can see, the Minister in his infinite wisdom, decided, not to put any of his political friends in an akward position by appointing an investigator to investigate the allegations levied.

I presume they have a place for separation. Some of the paper / card no doubt ends up in Smurfits in Clonskeagh.
