Hair on your head is designed for warmth where as the eyebrow hair is designed to prevent sweat entering your eyes. As such the length of eyebrow hair is not an important factor in how effective it is at performing its desired task. As such evolution has dictated that it doesn't need to grow longer than a finite amount.

Our eyebrows do, well at least mine do, every so ofter I find a good one-incher that is in need of a plucking.
Then theres the victims of the fell asleep during a party and had one shaved off. It grows back, so our eyebrows do grow...

All hair grows, it's simply the hair's life that determines how long it grows.

Head hair lives for about seven years - plenty of time for it to get really, really long.

Pubic Hair lives for about 6 months, hence why they're rarely longer than 3/4 inches (well, I know mine are anyway, but I don't exactly inspect them to find some biggies).

My eyebrow hair seems to be always falling out, and seems to replenish itself in about 2 weeks, so I'd say that's roughly how long it lives, and so they only get 1/2 cm long.

    :)

You completely ruined all possibilities for funny replies :)

Just wondering (this is vaguely related to the topic but I don't think it warrants a new thred):

How can you make hair look shorter without cutting it? I ask for school-related purposes. Mine is just about shoulder length and needs to look shorter.

Back to the topic tho: I'd say Pigman II is probably right, the length has to do with the purpose. I mean long hair can look stylish but long eyebrows??

My hair was kinda long (for me). I just put loadsa dax wax into and actually combed it. End result was that it looked kinda shorter.. dunno if that'll help you at all though!

Maybe a hair band or something? :)

What is the best way of protecting your eyebrows from being shaved off by other people?

When falling asleep drunk, be the last one to do so.

The best way to avoid this happening would be to shave them off yourself.

Shave them off yourself and beat them to it.
