Well folks, less than 9 hours to our big event smile.gif

We just need to set out a few ground rules (intended to do this last night until Ireland really did go Offline !)

Some of our guests have expressed concern about possible rowdiness at the
meeting - this has been triggered by some of the more provocative comments
on our forum "...boobytrap their car...", " "...give him a good ******ing
    .." for example.

Now, we're not getting at people, we realise that these things are just said
for a joke, but our speakers are very high profile people; it does take a
lot of courage to come to a face-to-face meeting with potentially angry
users and they deserve some basic respect.

Remember also that this seminar is a live, public event covered by the
media; Ireland Offline has established a very credible profile in a short
space of time and we wouldn't want anything to damage that, so let's watch
    our language etc.

In order to keep the event under control, Martin will have to work with a
tight rein. This applies both ways. If speakers try to waffle or evade
questions, he will challenge them on this. Equally, if members of the
audience start to dominate the proceedings or bring up issues that are not
relevant, he will have to cut them short; please be tolerant on this, we
want as many people to contribute as possible.

It's unlikely that we will get satisfactory answers to all our questions but
at least we will have brought the issues into the public eye and educated
the various organisations as to the calibreof internet users in Ireland and
    the level of their expectations.

OK, sermon over, lets see a massive turnout and show these people that we
    mean business smile.gif
