What do people reckon the new soap will be like? Its called "On Home Ground"
It revolves around a GAA team called Kildoran and involves stories from both on and off the pitch!

Kinda sounds like "Dream Team" to me rolleyes.gif
I am so glad I dont depend on the National Broadcaster biggrin.gif

The comparisions to Dream Team are inevitable perhaps, given that "Kildoran" and "Harchester" share a purple livery...

Don't think this is a soap. I think it's a six part (might be eight) drama. Couldn't cope with a GAA soap opera to be honest.

    Mark.

    They're so original lately...
But wasnt Emmerdale loosely based on "The Riordans" when it started first.

Sean McGinley's in it. Hmmmm... Mr Irish movie.

Anyway, according to the official RTE "New Season 2001" brochure which lies before me the show will be "vibrant, energetic, teeming with life...reflecting the issues, preoccupations, joys, celebrations, triumphs and disasters typical of modern Irish life."

What's the betting the only good bits will involve drink, stereotypical drunken GAA men, confused pensioners and Sean McGinley saying "****ing eejit" quite a lot?

Still, it's only got an 8 week run...

I loved Glenroe, and i thought that this new gaa yokie [for want of a better word] was a series not an 8 week drama, i will not be watching it. i just gor SD and when they get utv on there i will be getting rid of NTL as they offer me nothing, they are so bad, is it just me or does anyone else have a dreadfull reception?
