Well the time's ticking away till we say goodbye. Alas no more 11th Hour! No more repeats of Anderson on the Box! No more endlessly repeated clips from Scene Around Six! No more Father Brian!

And worst of all no more in-vision continuity! (except for Julian and *sometimes* blinking Audra (notice her the next time you see her) on UTV!) No more Michael Selby and his wee anecdotes! No more Kathy Clugston and her legs! No more Jennie Browne who I will only say nice things about after the last time!

So in retrospect, has Choice NI been good or bad? From the little I saw of it, it had its highs and lows, good to see some good old shows back, and of course IVC when no one else in the UK seems bothered to try it; but it could have been more scope for new drama and comedy talent in Northern Ireland, and was a bit too newsy to juxtapose with the other material, but all in all it was nice while it lasted!

    Opinions?!?

Maybe IVC will return - BBC TWO Ni digital will have opt-outs from BBC TWO NI Analogue - in the autumn. Maybe the 11th Hour et al will return then.

Haven't seen choice ni, however can only hope that bbc2 ni will not differ greatly from service we currently get; if we think rte presenters and programmes are bad, bbc1 ni and utv...

"if we think rte presenters and programmes are bad, bbc1 ni and utv... "

...are a million times better. On the whole. Maybe it's just me but I think BBC ni and to a lesser extent UTV, do a good job in local programming.

Very much nice while it lasted. I must say I mostly liked the in-vision continuity, especially the little remarks slipped in by Kathy, Jennie and Michael...

I particularly liked the XIth Hour, it was usually a good show but crucially for me here in London, I liked being able to watch Newsline Extra and the Spotlight repeats.

Now most of the Choice stuff (including the continuity) will move to the Digital Zone on Digi BBC Two NI next month - however all that will be barred for me and others in England.

It is a bit ironic that viewers in the Republic will be able to watch this when they could not watch Choice, but it is also equally ironic that viewers in GB wont be allowed to watch it...

I haven't seen CHOICE recently, but it is my understanding that BBC TWO ni analogue and digital will be identical over the summer and digital will opt out in the autumn.

I was also under the impression that everyone (in the UK) would have access to all four BBC TWOs

    Maybe I'm wrong, Richard.

BTW, if you look at "the Irish situation" generally there is a lot of irony - why should that not extend to TV?! <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src="../www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif" ALT=":)" OLDREF="http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END-->
