According to the digital spy forum Channel 999 (Sky Info) has gone interactive in the same style as Sky News active.

One of the news stories confirmed the new £12 mirror subscription.

Now that is interesting!! That makes the Sky+ well worth it indeed.

    Good news at last.

Probably cost more in ROI and it's not an offer in the ROI yet, like Sky+.

I think Tony said somewhere that Sky+ will be avialable in ROI early next year. Possibly same time for mirror subs.

I was having a look at this last night, and as irishblimp rightly says - this stuff isn't available in ROI yet, and obviously the pricing will be a bit higher........

My main worry is the fact that they are going to stick an extra installation charge for connecting your existing digibox to the new lnb......this is a bit sad.....the charge in the UK will be £25, so if you are going to get Sky+ (which I intend to do at some stage) you will pay the £300 (probably 350-400 Irish) for the new stb, then the extra £10stg per month for it's sub charges, then the extra £50stg for the installation of same.......and if you want to put the old digibox in another room they'll charge you an extra £25stg for the pleasure......

If you don't want Sky+ they are offering an extra digibox at £215stg........

    Any thoughts ??????

I am hoping the prices of unsubsidised STBs will drop dramatically as at the moment they're the guts of IR£400. I will never get the Sky+ I don't think coz I don't see the need to record anything with all the repeats and timeshifted channels there are. I would consider the Quad LNB for use with other STB's, possibly a UK STB with FTV card smile.gif in 2 other rooms and a mirror in the 4th room wink.gif The possibilities are endless.
Tony, do you have any prices for the Quad LNBs?

[Tony, do you have any prices for the Quad LNBs?

Hi, I prefer to call these four outs to avoid confusion with existing quads, i dont think our suppliers will stock these until the sky + arrives. I cant see any drop in the unsubsidised price as there is no pressing commercial need at present. As for £25 for an extra point unless sky subsidise this I cant see any retailers providing this service. I think the £10 per month is a rip off as they are using the epg for data. they should have priced the box properly without any ongoing cost bar the extra subscription.

    Regards Tony

I guess that Sky just looked at the price of Tivo in the UK and thought the Sky+ box has better features, will cost slightly less and they might aswell make money out of the subscription thing while they can......

Tony any signs yet on when next year Sky+ will be available ???

I think it will hit box sales whereas if it was higher at the start (ie its true cost) with no ongoing payments I think it would be a better seller

Well the trade shows are coming up so I'll find out more then. Looks lke we just went through 2000 posts guys well done.

    Regards Tony

I just read in What Satellite TV Magazine that they think the digiboxes will drop in price now with the extra interest in Sky+ and unsubsidised boxes for extra rooms.
