Anybody bought the Lidl system?

A friend of mine got the Lidl sat system today.Any1 else got it?Apparently when his Father got it it was the second last one left.And theyd been stacked up ceiling high so they must have sold out good.I might be going round to look later on in the week so ill tell u whats itds like to use etc.

And apparently hes been able to set it up without a meter.

ye Gopher they sold like hot cakes in the local Lidl here too. Apparently there were people outside waiting before the shop opened for them! I went over around 10:30am for a look and all that was left were three mounting brackets!!
Let us know if its any good.

Can someone who has the LiDL satellite set up whether or not it receives Channel 5. I heard that C5 is softcrypted and relies on there being a Videocrypt decoder (card unnecessary) but I see no sign of any Conditional Access on the LiDL system. Maybe someone can clarify...?

It doesn't recieve Ch5. I think it was somewhere on one of the google groups, there was a discussion as to this and the answer was no.
I'll have a root again and see if i can find it. I think Cloud posted some of the links before. Have a look in the original Lidl post and I'll see in the meantime if I can find it again.

Thanx for the answer, BNC! I can't see much use for this LiDL receiver although the dish would have been a good enough purchase to go with a digital receiver.

Surely Lidl will keep selling them after such a big rush for the first batch so u could probably buy 1 there.
