Does anyone have any experience of acquiring a UK Sky card to allow access to BBC/CH4/CH5. I know it can be done if you have a friend at a U.K. address willing to send it on.

What I am looking for is the EXACT procedure. i.e. The phone number to ring, what I'll be asked to supply and what I shouldn't divulge.

    TIA

I don't know the exact procedure, but you do need to give UK Television Licence number and the serial number on your box, which would enable them to find out the fact that you have a ROI box. I'd say the channels you want will be available in ROI before too long, however.

you can get thse without a card as follows

First make sure that your TV is tuned to Sky. Press Services on the remote control
and then select System Set Up
    and Add Channels.
The screen will then give you tuning options. Use the keypad and the cursor ( triangular ) buttons to make the screen show:
    Frequency - 10.906
    Polarity - V
    Symbol Rate - 22.0 (or 22000)
    FEC - 5/6

    Now go to Find Channels
    and press Select.
The screen will shortly show you the channels it has found.
Use the yellow button to Store Channels, this puts a small tick against your choice,
    then press Select.

When you want to Watch UTV just
    press Services
    and Other Channels.

The UTV option will appear and you just press Select.

You can also use this procedure to get the extra BBC channels (BBC3 BBC4 and the kids channels)using the settings
    Frequency - 10.773
    Polarity - H
    Symbol Rate - 22.0 (or 22000)
    FEC - 5/6

Already a thread on this here:

No need to resurrect a 5 year old thread! :)
