I know QVC has many Irish customer and they offer a Freefone number for them to use. How about SHOP!, Ideal World and Screenshop? Do they take orders from ROI, and if so how do Irish customers call them?

I'm sure they would be happy to hear from you. 0044 8700 xxx xxx certainly works in terms of dialling in and they'd let you know after that. Screenshop and PIN usually give Irish numbers, but they're the Penalli Pen crowd, so you get what you pay for! Shop!'s 0800 number can easily be dialled using 0044 800 etc. and will get you through.

As for whether any will actually sell to ROI, I don't know, but it'd be no harm to ask. You might even get on air and talk to those nice Ideal World - "we burned our premises down for the insurance" - bods.

In any case, with sterling's rate against the Irish pound, you'd really be insane to buy from these stations. It was different back when the situation was reversed. QVC had quite a few Irish customers then and even went out on (the then) TnaG. These days, the P&P is much higher for Ireland, so they're even less worth shopping with.

I agree it should promote the Irish number more, though. It's on QVC Text and the interactive service. Maybe no one calls any more and they just don't bother with the rotating phone numbers on screen. Or maybe since the QVC services now have many European versions, they don't see the on-screen promotion as being important. They should realise the UK service is received in Ireland via SkyD even if it isn't in mainland Europe, though.
