hi all.
this is my first post to this group.firstly i like to say to the creator of this website.Very good job.A bit more publicity ie listings on some search engines maybe even get it put in on doras.
secondly i would like to say hello to everyone in this group.good job with getting bbc to ireland.
the actual problem i have is.i was wondering is it posible to set up a video to record of SkyD.i know you can only record of 1 channel and you have to watch it.my problem is that i am away at college during the week and there is nobody at home.i was wondering is there a cheap way to get the SkyD and the video to talk to each other and get the video to record different programs of different SkyD channels.i heard it might be able with a special remote control.
any help on this matter would be great.
kevin

Sky were supposed to incorporate a timer into their EPG software but it never came to pass. Some say it may come @ a later date since they have a lot more customers to please. I believe there are some kind of R/C that can be programmed to work as a timer for digibox. Can't remember the name of it but! Check out <a href="http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/" OLDREF="">digitalspy as that's where i heard of it. Or maybe Ronan could shed some lite as he's pretty knowledgeable!!!!

AFAIK, the timer will be implemented sometime in the coming months alongside the new seven day TV planner and guide - an extension of the current EPG with more features. It will, apparently, be available to current boxes, though it will primarily be designed for the two-tuner My Sky box from Pace/NDS which is coming out in late Summer. Some screenshots were in a recent issue of that pathetic Sky customer magazine and on Backchat. (The biggest advantage of this box will be the facility to watch one channel while taping another which is something we've needed since the early days of analogue!)

There is a Topline (?) or One-For-All remote which you bascially program by telling it the buttons to press (1-0-6 at 7.55pm for example, then later 3-0-2 at 9pm) but it needs to face the digibox and not be tampered with.
