Hi, and welcome to the board

This area of the forum is for discussing Sky Digital?

Some things you might like to discuss:

Reception of BBC in Republic of Ireland.

Sky digital vs digital cable - which is better?

regards

Hello,

I am thinking of getting Sky Digital, but I am worried about Sky's service reputation. How long does it take to get a repair, and what other pitfalls should I look out for? At the moment it looks to good to be true, especially seeing as BBC etc. may be added - there has to be a downside...

the chances of a needing a repair are slim. i or anyone i know haven't needed one yet and yes it is good. a lot better than anything else available in Ireland

hi Lisa
I have sky digital ordered, and hope to have the viewing card by monday, I have been promised that the dish will be installed the day i get the card. I will let youy know how it all goes.If i was you i would go through a local dealer rather than through sky to get your system as it will be installed very quickly. It seems that the sky installers may have to travel 20 miles or more so will probably leave your instalation till they have a good few to do in your area, which can take up to a month or more, you should have your sky card back in 3 days from signing up, as to BBC on sky tis hard to know, but if it does happen, NTL and CHORUS can pack their bags and head for Siberia
Take care
hope life is good to you

There has been a lot of talk about Astra 2D launching on Sky Digital in Spring.
Can someone please tell me if viewers in the Republic will get some new channels when this happens, and if so, what will they be??

i'm very happy with it. the choice of channels is incredible. the picture and sound is also quite good with the exception of Liberty, MBI and some of the asian channels. all in all well worth the £50 installation fee

i install sky and thought it looked so good, i decided to get it myself when it was free in september. i haven't had any probs as yet and think it was the best investment i ever made (apart from my hifi). U can get a good enuff card for £16 a month. for nothing. or get Sky Movies & Sky sports for £36 a month - less than one nights drinking )
