"Open..." in Ireland

Does the "Open..." service on SkyDigital (especially e-mail) work in Republic of Ireland? i am getting sky digital next week, as far as i know you can use open to browse and play games, but you need a phone line connection to sky to use the email, shopping ,i think this is not available in the republic ,although it seems one can acess it by dialing 0044 prefix but it would not be free phone and would cost a mint to send emails this way, sky are to set up offices in the republic so they may setup an isp here ,who knows

Open email is designed for BT and cant as of yet be used here.You can however play most of the games on open.Shopping is also unavailable[although with various deals being made between sky and eircom i can see email and shopping coming to open ireland]

why do people want Open.... all it is is a watered down version of the internet

hi guys and gals, just an idea...., would eircom make a few bucks by starting a flat rate open like thingy on sky digital ?, in competition with chorus ntl, just a thought

Open... interactive services have no intentions to introduce its shopping and email service to the republic of ireland. the difference in value between sterling and punt means shopping is out of the question. by the way, this is what open told me as i emailed them on the subject
