The story is that Chorus has presented a new business plan to the ODTR aimed at standardising the various packages previously offered by IMC, CMI, and Suir Nore Relays. Oh, and there's a price rise for everyone to boot.

In return Chorus are offering improved service, more channels - particularly for ex-CMI customers, most of whom get a fairly small amount of channels, and a sweep of its entire network to improve the quality of its analogue services.

The details for each region are in the business plan, which is available as Document 01/63 on the ODTR website. For Clomnel, digital is promised to be available to 72% of the franchise by Q1 2002, 78% by Q1 2003, and 100% complete by Q1 2004.

The price rise Clomnel cable viewers are being asked to pay is £31.08, so the new yearly price will be £150. A very steep rise IMO, personally I think Chorus should make their improvements, then increase the prices if (and only if) they deliver on their promises.
