Are NTL Dublin now taking their BBC1 feed from Sky Digital? It's just that previously there was at least a 1 second delay between BBC1 on NTL and BBC1 on Sky Digi, and now they are almost totally in sync.

If NTL are taking their BBC feed from Sky Digital, then all programmes will appear full-screen - i.e. no 14:9 widescreen like you get on nearly every BBC programme these days. Check the News for example.

This can be altered by going into Picture Settings and either changing aspect from 4:3 to 16:9 or by staying with 4:3 aspect and turn Letterbox Mode ON. When in letterbox mode any 4:3 broadcasts will fill screen whereas widescreen broadcasts will give you the black bars (size depending on whether its 14:9 or 16:9) on top & bottom of screen. So even if all progs didnt appear in fullscreen this is not to say that their transmissions aren't from Sky Digital. You'll know in few months when BBC stop transmitting Ceefax on BBC1-digital (BBC2 on Sky doesn't broadcast Ceefax)

I think its still analogue terrestrial. Widescreen programmes are still in 14:9, not 16:9 as is case with digital. Many programmes and idents are still 4:3. Although some idents are now going out in 14:9, which they never did before, if the coming programme is 14:9. Practically all trailers are still 4:3 though.

Often this happens before the One O'Clock and sometimes Six O'Clock News.
