A friend of mine got Chorus Digital installed last Saturday week. He was ranting and raving about it initially, but on Saturday he asked if I ever had problems with my (Sky) digibox freezing ??? He has had to unplug the box a number of times, especially after watching Sky News for a length of time, in order to be able to do anything with it, i.e. it won't change channels, adjust volume, access the EPG, etc.

A good sign of things to come from Chorus me thinks...

My neighbor got it in recently aswell and he too is complaining about the frezzing picture. The only way out of it is to power cycle the box. I personally have no problems with my Sky digibox.

I heard the same thing about Chorus digital. Someone said that there was a fairly crappy version of the decoder software and that a bug-fix release would be downloaded.

I've had Sky for 2 years and apart from a digibox crash 2-3 times and a few pesky crows sitting in front of the lnb, I've had no problems whatsoever.

    Mark.

When I first got my first crash I rang up Sky becase I didn't know what to do
they tol me the problem that causes the crash is flicking through channell's really really fast ie. you just keep pressing the up button to change the channel
He told me to that this cause the digi Box to "over-load" and then causes it to crash.

Ring UPC (Chorus/NTL) and order a subscription. Or if you have one, get them to supply a second receiver/decoder
