Chorus Phone service

How does the Chorus phone service work?? (in areas where it is using wireless)

With MMDS customers a seperate antenna is required for the phone service in addition to the existing MMDS antenna for TV (analog/digital).
I notice in Midleton (Co.Cork) there are white square aerials (squarials?), now installed on existing viewers' MMDS aerial poles for the phone service, directed to the local ESB radio mast in that town, where Chorus obviously has equipment (for the phone system only). The MMDS TV aerials in that town usually point at the main site near cork airport or a beambender for the Youghal road area.

    Questions:
    (1) What frequency range does the Chorus microwave phone service work?
    (2) In cabled areas is the cable system used for the phoneline, or is a microwave aerial required for the phoneline in these areas also??
    (3) Do people loose the phone service during powercuts or has it battery backup???
