    Hi:

In the public interest, there is a copy of the document, referred to as the Secret Deal - by the media - at:

    http://www.connect.ie/secret.html

The .rtf file is a copy of the document in an editable format.
The .pdf file is a copy of the original document.

You are welcome to copy either of the above for your own purposes.

If you were the victim of sexual or other abuse, with any of the the agencies listed in the document, your legal adisors may be interested in a copy.

    Thanks

    M.Maguire

    HI:

I posted links to the document that has become known as the Secret Deal between the Church and State.

    Is this document important?

    or

    Why is this document important?

Since the docuiment was signed and put into operation by the Government, people who were abused while under the "care" of the organisations who are signatories to this, have been unable to get access to the complete document.

Instead, selective releases of the content of this were given through devices such as press releases and other statements.

The document has impacts not only on the people who were victimised, it has impacts on all Irish taxpayers for years to come.

Now that the document is in the public domain, there has been a noticible increase in the public's interest and more importantly the questions now being asked in Dail Eireann are of a higher calibre and better targetted with the benefit of detail.

Did any of the opopsition deputies have detials of this document before this action, I don't know - but what I do know is that no public representative of any party - government or opposition, has the excuse of not being able to be informed.

Hopefully the action will result in a better calibre and more informed debate about the activities that led to the formulation of this document and most importantly that the people who suffered previusly while in care have an equal opportunity to question and seek responses to actions past, currrent and ongoing that are done in the name of the People of Ireland.

Thanks for your patience and thanks to all who have given support to this.

    MM
