Half-Life was based on the Quake 1 engine, not the Quake 2 engine. It's now a fully unlicensed engine in its own right though.

I don't think there's a full list of these anywhere... however off the top of my head, here's a very incomplete list. If folk post corrections and additions below this I'll incorporate them into the original list.

    Quake II
    Quake II
    Sin
    Soldier of Fortune
    Heretic II
    Anachronox
    Daikatana

    Quake III
    Quake III Arena
    American McGee's Alice
    Soldier of Fortune 2
    Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein
    Heavy Metal: FAKK2
    Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
    Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force

    Unreal
    Unreal
    Unreal Tournament
    Deus Ex
    Clive Barker's Undying
    Mobile Forces

    Unreal Warfare
    Unreal Tournament 2003
    Unreal II
    Deus Ex 2
    Duke Nukem Forever
    America's Army

    Lithtech 1
    Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
    Blood 2
    No One Lives Forever
    Sanity

    Lithtech - Later Revisions
    No One Lives Forever 2
    Tron 2.0
    KISS: Psycho Circus
    Die Hard - Nakatomi Plaza
    Aliens vs Predator 2

    LS3D
    Hidden & Dangerous 2
    Mafia
    Vietcong

Tribes used the torque engine ,easy to map for almost to easy :(

MOHAA does use the q3 engine tweaked only with the scripting from FAKK2 trust me on that one ;)

MOHAA was done on the quake2 engine to my knowledge?

    Nah, Quake 3.

    i stand corrected :o

just that it felt alot like q2 engine, whereas the other games that use q3 engine you can tell a mile off (RTCW for example)

Actually Half-Life used the Quake2 engine intergrated with the Quake 1 engine. Some of the physics are exactly the same as Quake2 as are the RAD lighting & vis methods.

Mobile forces was done on the unreal enging and so was wheel of time!

AVP 2 was done on the Litech engine and i think Serious sam engine is based some what on the litech engine!

Voyager elite forces was done on the q3 engine!
Thats all i can think of!

actually avp/2 and serious sam/2 use their own engines not based on anything else.

Right, updated the list. I've not included any of the bajillion weird engines that were only used for one game, ever :)

DiscoStu - no, AvP2 was developed by Monolith using the Lithtech 2 engine. The first AvP was developed by Rebellion and used their own engine.
