Changing the Leds on your mobile

    hello,
    i'm wondering if any of ya mad spoons have been bold and changed the LEDs on your mobiles....i'm bored with the orange one, on me siemens a50 and might consider changing the lights on them to blue or something...anyone have any experience of this, ie, how difficult did you find it, and did u fry the phone or not.

    probably the best site on the net about this kinda thing (if you haven't found it already) is bluled.co.uk, although it's more focused on nokia's - might be worth a shot mailing them if they have (know of) fitting instructions for the a50

    if you haven't soldered before then read this guide and do plenty of practice on an old circuit board, until you are comfortable

    general tips: you'd need a small diameter tip for the solder bit (i.e. the end that heats up) as the circuitry can be very tight, good quality solder is also a must. you absolutely need a solder wick (mop) which is a kind of braided mesh that you use to de-solder - when cleaning up joints and especially to clean up any mistakes!

    you would be best to find the disassembly (and reassembly) instructions for your phone model beforehand, the blued.co.uk crowd might be able to help

    thanks a million for the posts, they were both very helpful. I haven't decided if i'm going to do it yet....damn i'm lazy, plus i don't wanna break me new phone :) we'll see....
