Anyone remember the women on the back of Tennants beer cans.

I was too young to drink but it left me damaged for may years I expect..

You would have been even worse off if you had actually drank Tennants:p That stuff's rotten!

I remember the old style of opener on 80's drinks cans of all varieties. The kind where you pop it open, peel it off and throw it away. Class.

I don't remember the cans in question (the only beers I drank in the 80's were robbed from my Dad and swigged with underage abandon without attention to the can).

P.S. Whilst visiting my bro' in Edinburgh over Xmas, I exclusively drank Tenants from the offy- no other cheapy lager was on sale (Carling, Heineken, Carlsberg et al) and it was perfectly palatable to be honest. :D

Ahh yes, the Tennants (sp?) ladies. they were similar to the atypical ladies on the US bomber planes of the second world war weren't they? Ye that inticed me to snaffle a few tins from my fathers booze cabinet. Although there were no ladies on the spirits bottles and that didn't stop me! I may be wrong but were they not just on lager but on special also?

Anyone remember when the first "widgets" came out. Everyone was - "oooh a widget, it must be clever. Hey do you know how it works? It actually works by .blah..blah....blah.."

And oz: did you ever use those old style ring pulls in the playground at school as make-shift frisbee-type spinning bullets? They were great craic for hitting someone in the eye!

    Hell yeah!

    1) Snap off 'flat bit'
    2) Hook thin end of 'flat bit' into 'ring bit'
    3) Pull back to maximum tension.
    4) Aim at Katy Belshaw's arse.
    5) FIRE!!!!

    Happy days. :D
