Naa, it's just the same here really. The only reason you don't hear anyone complain is because taxis are so expensive here only desperate people take them. Also everyone pretty much has a car (it's a car culture) and the other transport systems are better.

Not to mention during extreme peak periods you have to share a taxi with other people by law. (In ireland this is where 50 people are standing at a rank for 30 minutes each wanting thier own taxi).

Taxi into work in Ireland used to cost about 5 Quid and was a couple of miles away (1.5 hour walk). Over here it's $10 (including tip) and is only 10-15 minute walk.

some1 is obviously just home with a serious head on dem, and has only belatedly realised the fupped up problem with the dublin taxi service, even though there actually is no real problem with the taxis themselves as my wisdon shall show. its very simple:

[problem]
Not everyone can get a taxi in dublin when they really really need or want to (i.e. thursday, friday, sat, sun night betwixt midnight nad 4.am)

[possible equation]
new york is bigger den dublin,
they have more taxi's den dublin.

but dublin has more taxi's per head of
population than mostly anywhere else in de world.

[therefore]
dublin essentially has more taxis den new york, as far as our smaller population is concerned


[reason]
prolly because we as an irish race of people have become a few things that are all recent occurences and we have not yet dealt with those problems at hand firstly.

[problem 1]
we have become a lazy race always happy to 'let some1 else do it' or tomorrow tomorrow i love ya....'
arguably, (and im sure sum of ya will) we have always been a race pf people who saw the benefit of taking the easy life and staying real menthos fresh kewl all the while. but some where along the way we lost sight of our blissfull entreaty with higher callings and became laxidasical. this is why we want taxis more than ever.


[problem 2]
we are all fat, not to mention lazy (see above)

[problem 3]
we MUST have everything right here and now, immediatly and like "i wanted it yesterday" we are the spoilt children of europe, and yes we are kids when u look at other countries

france: milleniums old
britain: milleniums old
Ireland: essentially only 51yrs old as the
nation we are now

and we are spoilt rotten. the core of our society are spoilt little children

[Which is why]
we all look for taxis at the same peak periods,(when WE want them, alays ME FIRST ideology) to an extent unlike most other cities worldwide. and when we cant get these taxis at our beck and call ALL THE TIME, we complain syaing that we need more taxis (which merely means that the supply/demand curve is being upset and there is subsequently too many taxis at off peak hours). which then makes calls for the amount of taxis to be curtailed due to overcrowding of unecessary extra taxis on the roads (hypothetically)

[Solution]
well i could tell you all, but then i would no longer have fun watching u all do what yis are doing and then laughing at you all when you complain; wanting it better, faster, more often, higher quality, wanting it ALL when YOU want it.

well no seriously i would tell you all but this post is already too long and eveyone is at me too shorten the posts a bit.
