    I've been there twice, first time was for work - I was in Islandia for a week. The second time was Montauk on holidays. Very nice place and the humidity is a lot lower than in NYC.

    If your heading over on a J1 there's loads of jobs in Montauk. There's also great fishing out there. You should go Fluke fishing for a half day on one of the organised outings.

    Everybody, and J1ers, go to Montauk. I was there for my J1. Great place. You'd pick up a job in no time. And if your prepared to work long hours you'll rake it in. And make sure you'll pass your summer exams, not like me who had to cut my visit short and come back in late August.
    Montauk. Great place and I would have loved to have stayed longer.
