Munster win Celtic League Cup against Neath.

Not a classic but enjoyable. It sets them up nicely for the rest of the European Cup.

Went to Cardiff for the day. Great result although the game wasnt brilliant.

IMO Munster were never going to lose this one as I had seen them beat Neath away with ease back in October. They are a poor poor team.

Confidence will be very high going into the Leicester game. Put your money them going all the way.

    If you do . . . I'll buy them off you after Munster get knocked out . . . . . I'm getting ready for a Leinster - Leicester final !

I have my tickets already. If Munster dont make it I might make a few extra bob if I sell them to Leicester or Toulouse fans.

After all I cant overcharge a fellow Irish rugby supporter. ;)

But wouldn't you rather see an extra Leinster fan in Landsdowne Rd than make a few bob from an English/Frenchman . . . .

If Munster arent there I want to make money from my stand tickets and have a free weekend in Dublin and use my terrace tickets to see the match.

Touting I know but at least I will be exacting some revenge on a Leicester / Toulouse fan.

Don't be too confident . . we've been here before remember . . . .Irish rugby has a habit of not being able to cross the finish line !

After munster losing 2 finals they have enough experience and with Leinster breaking their duck on their travels, its all looking up!
On the international stage i would agree, we'll win nothing this year due to the 6 games in 6 weks format, any injuries and we're screwed!!

I agree . . . 5 games in 6 weeks is too much, the problem being that both England and France have more strength in numbers and will cope with it easier !

This is a real test for o'Sullivan !

Are bookies still taking bets on a Leinster Toulouse final?

Can't see Munster getting there. No offence lads, but judging by the way your semi-finals draws have fallen over the past four years it just seems that God doesn't want you to win it.

Leinster have a 'chosen people' look about them.

(Can you get banned for blasphemy?)

IMO Leicester is a much harder game than Toulouse away. After all they are the English and European champions and the game is at their own ground.

If they beat Leicester then the Toulouse game will be in the sunshine in France at a neutral venue where there will be huge Munster support. Also Toulouse will know that Munster beat them in a semi final in Bourdeaux in 99 and that they won in France last season at the semi stage also.

Im not saying if they beat Leicester they will be hot favourites but I wouldnt back against them. And certainly no one else wants to play them. Leinster included.

Really, you think Leinster are better than Munster? I'm an ulster fan and i would say that Munster are better, they have more spirit, and leinster haven't really been tested yet!!

    Yeah, sorry for the confusion!

This "munster passion" business is a bit overrated. . . . Granted, the performance against Gloucester at Thomond park was pretty special, but you've got to go back a fair bit to see a similar performance away from home . . .

People who talk about Leinster not having any passion have clearly never been to Donnybrook on a Friday night . . . . plus, they have strength, consistency and some of the best players in Ireland at the moment . . . (O'Driscoll, Horgan, Costelloe, Hickey). . . .

Yes I do, although I think it's damn close. Leinster have by far the better backs and most of the Irish pack too. Granted Munster's full strength pack is awesome and they've suffered with injuries but I think Leinster might just have the edge.

However the point I was making was that I don't think they will meet again this season. The only way they could do that would be in the final and to do that Munster have to win away against Leicester and then against (in all probability) Toulouse in France.

    Can't honestly see it happening.

Leinster's path to the final is much easier. A home tie against Biarritz which if they win will see them at home (really at home- Lansdowne Road) against either Perpignan or Llanelli.

Leinster are luckier. Munster have been damned unlucky - disallowed try in 2002, missed professional foul last year. Their luck shows no sign of changing.

For what it's worth, if Leinster make the final I would most fear Munster, but I think they will be taken care of before then.

Leinster do have a easier run in but i think that if they get any injuries to key players such as O'Driscoll they woulden't have much quality back-up and would be in trouble

this is one area that munster i believe are clearly ahead of leinster in especially when you think how they have coped with the injuries to key players such as Paul O'connel,David Wallace,Henderson etc...

Leinster only won for the first time in France this season so their away record is nothing compared to Munsters.

As for away performances by Munster, they beat Castres away in the semi final last season. They may have lost their away games to Gloucester and Perpignan this season. But the two of them also lost their respective away games.

As I have said before in another thread Munster were in by far the hardest group whereas Leinster had a fairly straightforward one.

Its a pity we wont be able to see just how good Leinster are away from home.
