Micro-filter question

A quick question about those micro-filter/splitter thingies that you use with DSL.

Can you put them on any phone socket in a house with a DSL enabled line or can you only put one on the main socket coming into the house?

Sorry if this seems a stupid question, just want to know if I'm going to have to run cable from our main phone socket in the living room into the room with my pc which has it's own extension socket.

    Thanks

    Ken

As I understand it, you will have to plug a micro filter into each socket in the house, so that any phone using that socket won't interfere with the ADSL signal.

Depending on how your phones are wired, you might be able to get away just 2 filters, one on your PC extension, and one on your "main" socket.

(Caveat - I don't have any direct experience with this in Ireland. I've only used micro-filters in the US).

    Hi,
you need a nicro filter only to connect a phone, not your PC :)
