Yeah I loved it too. My top 5 list for the year so far only had one movie on it (Cidade de Deus). Now in one weekend, Chicago and About Schmidt get added to it.

Chicago is great fun. It has a ton of great songs and some brilliant one liners. Zeta Jones and Zellweger were both brilliant.

Can't see why everyone is raving about Richard Gere, though. He was above average.....

Its probably not suitable for everyone, though. 2 friends I went to see it with liked it but didn't love it.

Oh, and its much better than Moulin Rouge. 8/10.

    - Dave.

Id rather sit atop the spike for 7 days than see this film. Looks absolute tosh.

well richard gere never professionally danced before so for him to learn all the stuff he did and pull it off so well is quite outstanding IMO (he he...im a dancer)

A good flick it has to be said. Richard Gere tap dancing - genius! And that puppet scene - spectacular!

saw it yesterday at long last, and i was well impressed. i thought renee zellweger was the best, her dancing just made me watch her all the time. CZJ was good but not as good as i expected. richard gere was great. it was good, nearly as good as the stage version, (definately much clearer than the stage version anyway)

its very funny, CZJ must be at her tiniest in the role, but stood next to renee (especially in the very last number where they're both wearing the coats with their backs to the audience) she looks like a man.
