True "dos box" environment emulators available for Win2000 or XP ?

    Does anyone know if there are any true "dos box" environment emulators available for Win2000 or XP ? I came across a few ancient programs I am unwilling to throw away. :eek:

    VMWare or Virtual PC.
    Both you have to pay for and both are expensive.

    There are some free types in the works.

    Bochs

    tried that in its early days and couldnt get it working. but it seems to have made some serious progress.

    Another i kinda remember is called dosbox(i think) that one was a little more stable. i cant remember the url either sorry.
