Fischer Price My First Mobile Phone

    A quick boost to telecinesk who posed this idea in the 'Miami Vice' thread!

    What was your earliest mobile 'phone, and how brick like was it? Mine was a Nokia 5.1 waaaay back in 1995. It was one of the first GSM 'phones in the UK and was connected to the then fledgeling Orange network.

    It looked like this:

    I remember thinking I was the absolute don because I was the first of my friends to ditch my pager and get a mobile. Reception was piss-poor and standby a mighty 22 hours. When it rang in lectures everyone thought I was a drug dealer! :D

    Mine would have to be the solid brick of a motorola that was first released on the ready to go range think it was the first one on it and it was on the cool! 088 network lol still using motorolas had a 3210 for a bit but not half as solid a phone

    This is the first mobile I had. Huge lump of a thing, but survived a few smashes reasonably well (until I dropped it down a toilet!)
