Does anybody remember "First Class"?

Does anybody remember a BBC Kids game show from the 1980's called First Class?

It featured schools competing against each other for the series prize of a BBC Micro (which was donated to the school!!).

It was presented by Debbie Greenwood and was very techno-oriented (which ages it superbly!)

I recall it specifically because a section of the show was devoted to a nominated kid from each team playing a then-current computer game, to see which team got the highest score. The games I remember from the show were Paperboy and 720 degrees. The kids who played on the show were so sh*t, it was hilarious.

The programme is criminally under-represented on the 'net, the best link I could find was this:

Jebus! Did you think you could stick up another BBC Micro Thread and it wouldn't be noticed? ;) I've never seen the show tbh but it seems to me it beats Channel 4's Gamesmaster on using various commercial games for "Challenges" by about 10yrs....Another thing, don't you just hate those quiz shows where the prize goes to the school. Remember Blackboard Jungle? poor kids had some of the toughest questions going and won a walkman for they're trouble.whats the school get? A Mini bus

Heh heh. I just keep stickin' 'em in! I entered a 'green cross code' road safety quiz for my primary school which I won. The school was given £2000 worth of gym equipment. My prize? An 'I met Welephant*' badge! Bastardo!

    * Welephant was Greater Manchester Fire Brigade's mascot to teach kids the dangers of playing with matches. Burnt out cars and arson in general went through the roof in the mid to late 90's so I'd guess most people felt the same about ol' Welephant as I did. ;)

....i remember that, but strangely i thought the game they played was a version of track and field...Endless replays of discus being thrown into back of net...gymnast running ineptly into the vaulting horse...marvellous...Computer Games...
... Debbie Greenwood in sensible yet revealing jumpers...... an adolesants nerds paradise...Nice...

They played a variety of games over the show's life including, I believe, 'Daley Thompson's Decathlon'.
