Right....MAME is running System 32 games. I've given Alien3 :The gun a bash but's still a bit messed up(No backrounds). The emulation is obviously not nearly as good as modeler but it seems the emu's author R.Belmont is working a great deal with MAME Dev and won't be updating it...At least the controls will be far better through MAME.

    Game lists:)
    System 32
    Air Rescue
    Alien 3 : The Gun
    Arabian Fight
    Burning Rival
    Dark Edge
    Dragon Ball Z V.R.V.S
    F1 Exhaust Note
    F1 Super Lap
    Gale Racer / Rad Mobile
    Golden Axe II
    Holosseum
J League Football / Super Visual Football
    Jurassic Park
Looney Tunes - By A Hare
    Rad Mobile / Gale Racer
    Rad Rally
    Sonic The Hedgehog
    Spider Man
Super Visual Football / J League Football

Some of the above are not emulated because of encryption. But who wants to play dragonball Z games anyway.

    System 32 Multi
    Hard Dunk
    Out Runners
    Stadium Cross
    Title Fight

I've played a few of the above. Sonic the hedgehog and Golden Axe II are excellent in my opinion with spider Man & Co and Arabian Fight being average side scrolling beat'em'ups
Anyone make any suggestions as to others I might track down?

Is the sonic game the beta that runs in modeller or a full version....i had a look a while back but couldn't find any info on either a released version of it or any info on any form of it (bar the beta) being dumped.

    SONPD1 BIN 262,144 08-11-99 12:06a SONPD1.BIN

What your looking for is Sonic the Hedgehog (rev c) which has been dumped correctly and is listed in MAME but Its has a protection meaning it crashes when you enter a coin:( . Until they figure it out your stuck with the prototype which in fairness is still very good.

Prototype only has 3 levels and modeller control support is dodgy. Anyway, that game really needs mouse support (or trackball if i had one).

Modeller unfortunetly seems to suffer the same thing all these other emulators suffer from these days, being B0rged by mame.
Modeller, zinc, viva nonno, all started out well then just disappeared as far as updates are concerned until they turn up running at a tenth of the speed in mame. pity that!

It will let you get most of the way through zone five. Then it won't let you add anymore continues and the levels so bloody hard your brown bread in seconds! Hit F5 in Modeler to use the mouse in Sonic.
The guy's behind Modeler have always said they would be making a MAME driver when they had emulated Sega System 32 to a high enough standard (Which they have) Then they hope they will return to solving the issues with Sega model 1 3d chips.

Zinc is still alive and a lot of the 3d games supported almost perfectly. As far as I know sound issues are a problem with Soul Edge and then Tekken2 doesn't run correctly at all. The coder is busy with a work project according to R.Belmont. but will be back after that.

As for viva nonno I don't know what the story is must have a look at that. The emulation was again good if you had a high spec PC.
I dislike MAME myself but it seems If you have a good PC the game driver will be twicked a few times and the game will run fairly well. I'm sure given time the likes of killer Instinct etc will fall into line and run on the usual MAME spec (p3-1ghz)

*Goes to fetch club to wipe smug smile of KdjaC 's face;)

All of these games would run perfectly under a different emulator.
I give you the emulation of CPS2 as an example of MAME's crapness

Yah but the age old argument MAME tries to do the lot and thats its downfall.
Eventually they will get it right but on a meaty PC.

Come on 1 emu to rule them all ,if it worked flawlessy i would pay for it. // may happen one day if they got the ROM licences.

Like microsoft windows yeah? Thankfully they won't get half the rom licences. I guess I'll just say it again... It doesn't have to be this way. If they stopped adding clones etc and worked on fixing the sound and other problems for just a short while it could the best emulator ever created. Quality NOT quantity damn it!

Sound is cack on most games ,go to Bray on a busy day and record the sounds of millions of kids screaming in one of the arcades and play it on a stereo everytime you play MAME :D

The problem is not the sound quality it's the fact MAME requires the same amount of processor time for sound as it does the graphics.

Yup, sound quality, much alike everything in mame, works just fine and is near perfect. But its the processing time it takes up.
They really don't even need to change this, what they need to do is allow gfx card support. It is in there, but we're talking ancient ATI cards is the limit to which MAME understands. Add support for a geforce type chipset and i think that would easily knock out the extra power needed to run say mortal kombat 3 and the like.

Whats annoying is, that to do this is pretty easy, its almost like they don't want to do it!
