The only requirement for the 7650 is a very large pocket. This is for two reasons:

    1. To accomodate the large wad of used small bills you need to buy it and

    2. To fit the phone into after you receive it - it's a monster!

Not sure if the irish networks will work, but they should.
And yes you can geta brand new sim card from o2 and keep your existing number.

Phones either come simlocked or not simlocked.

If not simlocked, then yes it will work on any network.

If simlocked it won't (Unless it has been unlocked).

    That simple.

If you can get the seller to send you the serial number and you PM me with it. I can tell you whether or not it was supplied by Nokia simlocked or not.

    BTW how much ?

I got this voucher thingie out from Vodafone where I can buy the :

    Sharp GX10 for €249

    Nokia 7650 for €249

    Panasonic GD87 for €329

I've been using Nokia phones for a while now and find them easy to use and also quite good quality.

I have however seen both this Sharp one & the Nokia one and I must say the Nokia one is very big (And a tad ugly) but I would put up with that if it meant it was more reliable than the Sharp or Panansonic ones. The Sharp one is a nice phone but I wouldn't feel as confident about it as I would if it had a Nokia badge on it .

    Any opinions ??

I would recommend the Nokia over the other two any day.

It's size is it's only disadvantage but the phone makes up for it. Its not designed to be compete with the other two.

It has greater memory for more games/apps & ringtones
It takes far better pictures than the other two.
It has it's own OS, so there are games and apps made exclusively for it.

Just so you know you don't need to slide it open to make or recieve calls, so it's not always 'that' big.

Also the voucher thing you got is now irrelevent because the phone has now been reduced beyond that price. They're only €199 now with an upgrade and apparantly dropping further in 2nd week of February.
