Seminal Teen Flicks

What movies did you watch to death as a youngster? Most females of my generation will whine endlessly about what a class film 'Dirty Dancing' is. Personally I thought it was crap and preferred the likes of 'Weird Science' and 'Dazed and Confused' with the occasional 'Airplane' marathon.

I'm not talking about acknowledged classics like Star Wars, more those quirky 'feel good' flicks that used to do the rounds at school ('The Breakfast Club' et al).

    What were yours?

Breakfast Club goes without saying. The Sure Thing (one of John Cusacks first movies) was also a favourite. And don't forget Ferris !!

There were only 3 movies I and my sister watched when young and they were
-"Jaws" every morning before we went to the beach to swim in the sea
-"Grease" for when we came back and had lunch
-and "Bugsy Malone" for before bed.

(oops make that 4 - the fourth being the "Oliver" with Oliver Reed as Bill Sykes)

So I guess Grease and Bugsy Malone. Now they were good musicals.

Grease, what a classic! The quiffs, John Travolta's leather jacket, the pink ladies, great!

On a more recent note, what about Waynes World?? Great movie, if a little juvenile!

    In my opinion....

    Waynes World (1 + 2)
Ferris Bueller (Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh Yeeeeeeeaaahhhh! :) )
    Stand By Me
    Dazed And Confused
Detroit Rock City (Love that film!)
    Almost Famous

There are a few films in there that are pretty recent but they all kinda hang in or around the same lines
