Right, I've a 133mhz box here with 16megs RAM, just wasting away, and no stereo in my room. (2+2=4)

I have my hands on a command-line mp3 player, so I just need an encoder to stick my favourite CDs into my uber 1337 new PC stereo.

Anyone know of a decent one?

I may one day write a small C app to stick these two together, but I'll be happy for the mo. Cheers laeds

    MP3 encoder: LAME
You'll also need a CD audio ripper: cdparanoia

    LAME is a good encoder.

LAME is also licenced under the LGPL making it about as free as free gets.
