and before you load photoshop/psp they *are* the same hex values..

I'm now going for a lie down

feel free to post equally weird optical illusions.

Not really, its caused by the vague shadow given off by the green cylinder.

lol I showed my dad who is a printer and he thinks it bullsh!t , Can anyone give me proof so I can prove him wrong

print it and cut out the squares...

The trick is your eyes think all the "black" squares are the same black - when they aren't. Only the difference between black and the adjacent "white" (actually grey) is the same. I suspect colour blind people may see it "better" than other people.

I present to you definative proof that the squares are in fact the same colour:

You can literally see the colour change before your very eyes....

I don't think so, it's more primitive than that. Our eyes are saying "Black and white" when it is actually various shades of grey.

So they've clearly tricked us. That square *should* be white to keep the pattern consistent. So they've used the shadow to trick us by darkening all the squares around B. Thereby making us think that it actually is white.

Our mind is seing the pattern that SHOULD be there, but isn't.

That is precisely it Kamobe, try to put your fingers covering most of the other squares and you see it immediately.

Tizlox that site installed some sort of spyware on my computer thru ActiveX and I'm having a nightmare trying to get rid of it. I suggest noone accepts the ActiveX files from that site.

3 including white - its just that at first glance there appears to be 2 different reds/pinks, thats all.

heres another of my faves - would you trust this person? -

That must work on the same principle as the first illusion. (2 right?)

    I dont trust liars.
Also, there are many different colours in that picture, zoom in far enough and you can see them, or you can open psp and get all the different RGB values. Theres defintly over 3.

I think acid meant the attached picture not the one below:

    LW439.jpg

Which leaves me with one question: what optical illusion should I be seeing in the picture above??
