BBC Three will launch on February 9th. It replaces BBC Choice and will show Eastenders before it is shown on BBC 1/RTE . I assume this is to give the ratings a kick start. It will also show the new series of '24' before it is on terrestrial.

    I rather like BBC Choice.
I hope they don't deviate too much from it.
By the way have you noticed that BBC 1 and 2 have been considerably thinned down in the last 6 months.
BBC 2 especially is now a totally different channel to what it was before digital.

Yea, Choice is pretty good as it is. AFAIK, '24' will be shown like the last series, first on Choice/Three, except for the last episode.

    Will it be 24/7 channel?

BBC 3 won't be 24/7 unfortunately. It will still start at 7pm.

I agree that BBC Choice is pretty good, so hopefully there won't be huge changes. It might even improve with a bit more funding (ie less repeats).

They already have a new promo where the two guys in hard hats appear in front of a sign that says "under construction". I'd say that'll eventually reveal the new BBC Three logo.

If you want to see the BBC Three logo go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree

Looks like it was designed by two 16 year old kid on work placement:eek:

The channel has to produce a lot of original material as part of it's grant to transmit and few imports and repeats will be allowed. I haven't watched BBC Choice much recently so I can't compare but it sounds like a promising channel. It can't go 24 hours ATM as CBBC takes it space during the day on DTT and Dsat.

And thats one of the kinder comments about Martin Lambie-Nairn! :D

I think the current crop of BBC idents, across all networks are amougst the worst ever, with the execption of BBC News 24 and BBC News in general.
