I dont mind Keeping Up Appearences if theres nothing else on.

Give My Head Peace is a but weak at times(though I loved the sopranos pisstake"The Sinnfeiners"showing a similiar intorduction and the twin towers in the mirror scene is a Belfast towerblock.Funny stuff:D )
That one on BBC My Family is the biggest heap of sh1te ever. How does it keep getting recommisioned?
I have never liked Friends.Always thought it was overhyped sh1t.

TBH there are very few good new sitcoms nowadays.

fiends if ever there was one!

its such a boring programme, its one of those things in irish youth culture that if you dont like, its sacrosanct, like U2 (who i also HATE).

Definetly Friends! I almost cried when I heard it was getting renewed for a 10th season.

If you've never seen this show (and yes I know it's unlikely) but would like to start then just read this first....

Chandler : Could we BE any more unfunny?
    Ross : Uh.....
Courtney : I'm so neurotic. Use a coaster!
Rachel : Oooh, I'm so self-obsessed. Look how shiny my hair is.
Joey : How Youuuu doin? Wanna go to bed?
The Blonde One: I'm so kookie. Don't I make you feel like you're lifes so conformist compared to my weird and wonderful belief system.

There ya go. I've just saved you 100 hours of your life.

Ahh I used to enjoy watching Keeping up Appearances, RICHARD!! It has it's moments.
And Pigman, come on! Friends is one of the funniest shows on T.V. !

    Only Fools and Horses.
    Peasant humour.
It is however, hugely ironic that the title descibes the audience.

Pigman I almost cried when I heard they are doing a Friends film.

I find this show pants wettingly funny!

But for most boring sitcom, defo has to be Friends, its just so damn boring now, they should have killed it when it was good.

Give me a friends movie over another series ANYDAY!

A movie lasts for just 90 minutes. You don't even have to go see it and you won't hear a word about it after it's opening week.

A series on the other hand lasts on average six months. It gets blanket coverage on several channels and has ads round the clock making it practially unavoidable in one form or another if you wish to turn on your TV.

I hate Friends so much that I've even detuned Sky and E4 from my TV ... believe me, this time it's personal! :)

    Friends

    Anything RTE has ever produced.

    Cosby

Only Fools and Horses (never found it funny at all)

    Last of the summer wine

And many ITV sitcoms suck too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,136 ✭✭✭Pugsley

No matter how much any of you dont find only fools and horses funny, the batman and robin scene was a master piece in every sense of the word :D

Tbh i enjoyed series 8 of friends (err the last one before this one?)

First few series's were great, then it died off. E4 did the whole of series 8(?) in a week last week and i watched it. Loved it :)

Saw the 1st 2 episdoes of series 9(?) and enjoyed them too.

I said it should been killed off ages ago, and ill stick with that but i must say im enjoying it again :p

Thanks for the reminder.... Give My Head Peace is absolutely terrible. I just want to punch that bearded guy in the face.

I don't mind friends, to be honest. Even the worst episode has 4 or 5 good laughs in it.

Anyone remember Upwardly Mobile? Leave it to Mrs. O'Brien?

    - Dave.

    Yes, hence my statement
    Anything RTE has ever produced
    regarding sitcoms.

You also forgot Extra, Extra! *shudder*

Dunno... they co-produced "Batchelors Walk" with the BBC (they're producing it solo now, aren't they?) - and that's quite a good show in fairness.

Batchelor's walk is not a sit com, they co-produce it with an board scannan.

    That 80'S show.

I still enjoy friends however i think it is time to give it up.

The new last of the Summer wines are pretty poor. Shame really the older ones were very good.

I think "situation comedy" ('sitcom') describes it nicely. It may not go overboard on gags, etc. - but it definitely fits into the 'comedy' genre.

    That 80'S show.

Thought That 70's Show was better myself.

I think its called "grounded for life",and "Darma and Greg" ,there's two shows that are so not funny they make me cry.......and the fact that they keep adding in that stupid fake laughter really piss's me off

Don't really like Seinfeld, Friends, Dharma & Greg, Veronicas Closet, come to think of it, most US imports.

I don't like The Office either. Give my head peace is mildly funny if there's nothing else on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

Whoever doesn't like Seinfeld and The Office doesn't have a sense of humour.
The subtle dark hunour of Seinfeld can be too intelligent for some people, the Brent dance c'mon people.

    Dharma and Greg

So un-funny it makes me cringe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,754 ✭✭✭Big Chief

    Malcolm in the middle..........

i have no idea why people like this dross...

will & grace, im not homophobic but i just plain despise "gay humour", really makes me cringe... (also why i detest graham norton)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 263 ✭✭joey D

Bachelor's Walk isn't a sitcom, and the second series was a dreadful pile of sh i te.
Most of the U.S. imports are awful - what's that one set in a fashion magazine with the camp guy who looks like Dana Carvey? God that's appalling...

Seinfeld.... ugh, it's an acquired taste. Kind of like the marmite of comedy I suppose.

Anyone see friends on Monday? It was... good I thought, obviously not their best moment, but the best steady stream of laughs that I've got from it in a series or two...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,055 ✭✭✭suppafly

That 80's show has to be one of the worst sitcoms on da tely at the mo. Its sooooo s****!! were they trying to binge off that 70's show's success, cuz thats a deadly show. That 80's show is simply pathetic!!
