(dont laugh its a work pc)

    Pentium one
    16.0 MB Ram
    Directx 6

had Gens and Snes9x runnin was gettin frame rates of between 15 and 20 fps at tops and that was a little to slow to be playin

would use a dos but i want to use a little window not fullscreen dont wana get caught playin games in work now do I?

    Any help would be appreciated.

tbh trying to run a windows based emulator on a machine like that is equivalent to running doom3 on a machine like that :) its just not going to be playable.

try and dig up either kgen98 of genecyst(sp) they are older mega drive emulators and both are dos based but work well in win95/98

for the snes it would be a little more difficult. forget snes9x, try look for versions of zsnes that are about 0.7-0.9 and dos based. there will no doubt be problems running some games on it but with a pentium 1 and 16mb ram your not really expecting to be spoilt for choice :)

[edit]sod that i can give you an abacus. it will have more procesing power than that machine :)[/edit]

Oh er...You'll need 32MB of Ram to get anywhere with a windows based Megadrive emu. That and a 200mhz processor;) As Stu said forget about Snes emulation. I have to say if I were you I'd be chasing up your manager about a new machine tbh. That spec would struggle to perform simple word processing/spreadsheet tasks with todays software never mind emulators!

    not a bad idea
altho the managers dont like me
wait till they find out ive been passing emulators and roms to other folk in the office
i can just about run winamp on it
    hmmmm
looks like ill have to start whinging for a newer pc

    :(

    /edit thanx for the help

practise your alt+enter -> windows+m key presses at home. if your quick enough you wont need a windows version. :)

Most lightly but it would make any game unplayable! Perhaps spilling your tea on the PC would help? Seriously thats a ridiculous spec to have. Explain to your boss it's 2003 and that your waiting an age for programs to start and your PC grinds to a halt/ crashes when you open more then two programs at once! Trust me a helpdesk/tech support guy wouldn't even waste his time trying to solve the problem on your machine he would just vouch for you saying "Er this guy needs a new PC" at the very least you might get a bit more ram!

Its you God given right to play classic Console and Arcade games through they're respective emulators during work hours!! Demand your boss provides you with a top of the line PC in order to increase your productivity/slacking of time :D
