    THis board's been a little too quiet lately so here's apost.

    Got into 3d stuff recently & here's something I did:

    The lamp looks very unreal. I think the texture needs more work on it.
    The rest looks good.

    Yea, I think that too.

    My texturing isn't up to scratch just yet.

    Anyone knwo where I could find some decent reference photos of a bankers lamp lit like that. Or lights with similar features. I'm not sure how the lamp should illuminate.

    I don't know which 3D app your using(I'm using MAX5),but as regards lighting your lamp scene,the light source from the lamp can be simulated realistically with 3 omni lights(you can keep adding them as required)The first(main)light is positioned inside the lampshade.This light will have the highest intensity.Change the diffuse colour of this light to(in this case)a suitable green hue.
    the other lights can be positionedas follows;one directly below the first light just above the surface of the table with a lower intensity.Then create one or two more offset between the lamplight and the table light,with varying lower levels of intensity.
    It can take a long time to tweak your lighting and experimentation
    is the key.Attenuating your lighting falloff is paramount when recreating real-world lighting.
    As regards texturing your lamp i would strongly advise studying
    procedural textures(shaders).These textures are extremly
    powerful and well worth the effort.

    P.S- your chair and lamp are very well modelled.
    (Don't forget to add a plug to the chord and plug it in!!!)
