Got in a new printer this week , a HP laserjet 9000 and looking through the documentation it say that it can send a photocopied document straight to an email recipient.

Has anyone used/set up this type of service before ?

In the printer settings it asks for the SMTP gateway ip , is that just my exchange servers ip or do i need to set up something extra in exchange ? Will it then send the email as if it originated from the exchange (5.5) server ?

Any advice you guys can offer is appreciated.

If the exchange server is set to relay mail for any ip within your local area network (and your printer gets an ip in this range for its nic) then yeah, just point the smtp gateway setting to your exchange server.
