One-legged Escobar Marulanda of San Vincente del Caguan, Colombia was worried after robbing St Thomas' church of all its gold and collection money. The priest, Father Valderama, announced he would study the video from the church's CCTV system to work out who the thief was. So he would not be suspected, Marulanda cut off his other leg. Father Valderama later told police that the video cameras were not switched on!
